Diverse teams are classified as more efficient and creative in numerous studies. At tracekey, we also value diversity in all areas of our company. As a SaaS company, our main focus is on software, and here too, the topic of diversity is reflected and has a positive influence on the development of our software solutions.
Numerous studies have shown that heterogeneous teams are more innovative, creative, and efficient in general. One of the reasons for this is that individuals from diverse backgrounds contribute their unique perspectives, facilitating the emergence of a wide range of ideas and approaches to solutions. This makes it easier for teams to think beyond standard processes and answers and develop new, solution-oriented strategies. This also applies to our development team and regularly leads to us bringing in new input from outside, for example, working students or interns.
Good ideas play an important role, especially with the constant new challenges commonly arising in software development. Diverse perspectives allow us to achieve a higher quality of ideas and therefore better solutions. Of course, this not only benefits our internal processes but also our customers, who profit from the different perspectives.
Tailored to the customer: Diversity is benefitial for SaaS
With our products, we not only want to solve the industry’s challenges posed by regulations such as the EU FMD or the MDR but also offer them the best possible user experience and respond to the specific needs of the industries and users.
We may serve a niche market focussing on pharmaceuticals and medical technology, but of course, not all of our customers are identical. As an internationally active company, global perspectives also make sense. The multinational orientation of our teams also creates easier access to global markets. Just as gender, cultural, and ethical diversity help us to better understand our customers’ needs and develop more suitable solutions.
Innovation and a positive environment
The broad composition of our teams allows us to develop new approaches and identify gaps in the market. This doesn’t just happen in the development team, but we can always see how ideas bubble up as soon as development and marketing sales, for example, exchange ideas. Here, too, we can see how diversity boosts creativity.
Diverse teams create a positive environment in which more people dare to speak their minds. Swimming against the tide in a homogeneous crowd always requires courage. In a team that values diversity and is set up accordingly, it is also easier to come up with thoughts that deviate from the usual path.
We look forward to more.
There’s always room for more, and of course, that also applies to diversity. That is why we are not only continuously working on our software, but also on creating an inclusive working environment for everyone, thus further increasing diversity in our teams.
For example, family-friendliness through part-time plus remote work, and flexible working hours contribute to this, as does English as our main language to ensure access for team members who do not speak German.
